A spectator is asked to remove any match out of a matchbook, and strike it to verify its validity. The matchbook is then held tightly in their closed fist throughout the rest of the effect.
A playing card is then selected from an ordinary deck and - without any notice and under impossible conditions - it vanishes. The spectator slowly opens their hand to find the matchbook itself has visually transformed into their selected card.
